OAH Continues Special Education Hearings amid Concerns with Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Yesterday, March 18, 2020, the Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH) issued a broad continuance of all non-expedited prehearing conferences and hearings scheduled between March 18 - April 17, 2020. This order may be modified or extended at a later date.

In addition, all mediations scheduled for March 16, 17, 18, 19, and 20 are cancelled. Parties may request cancelled mediations be rescheduled. Moving forward, mediations already scheduled with OAH through April 30, 2020 will occur via telephone or video. OAH has provided detailed instructions for those mediations. You can find this information, as well as a link to the OAH Order on their update Changes to Special Education Mediations and Hearings link.

Consult with your attorney about whether and how your school or district may be impacted by the Order and the changes to mediations.
